The Midwest Reggae Fest is a three-day reggae event located at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Northeastern Ohio. It is an annual event and as of 2016 the event is in its 25th year. The festival features three days of live reggae bands along with numerous food vendors, vendors of Caribbean fashions and accessories, art vendors and more.
In designing a look for the festival, the Reggae “vibe” had to hit the viewer right away. The graphic needed to be eye catching, colorful and posses a quality specific to Reggae music. In researching this style of music, I found out that the consistent beat that is prevalent in the music is actually mimicking the sound of a heartbeat.
